ZINC ELECTROPLATING BARREL & JIGGING

Individual support. Zinc finishing.

Jigging work.
Each part in place.

Zinc plating for components that need to be held individually. Share your part details so we can review the jigging arrangement and the required finish.

The process

Held on a jig.
Finished in zinc.

Jigging, also called rack plating, secures individual components on a rack during treatment. The parts are supported separately rather than tumbling together in a barrel.

Metal-lech offers jigging work in blue, yellow and black zinc finishes. The component’s dimensions, weight, shape and surface requirements help determine a suitable arrangement.

When to discuss jigging

The part guides
the process.

Send the details below so that handling, contact positions and finishing requirements can be reviewed together.

01 / SHAPE

Individual support

Brackets, shaped parts and other components may need a fixture suited to their geometry. Include dimensions, weight and a clear drawing or photograph.

02 / HANDLING

Separate components

Let us know if parts could bend, tangle, nest or damage one another during tumbling. Jigging can be considered where individual handling is needed.

03 / SURFACES

Finish requirements

Identify visible faces, critical surfaces and any coating specification. Discuss acceptable contact positions as part of the quotation.

Two ways to handle the work

Jigging or barrel?

The choice depends on the component. Both processes are available for suitable work in our blue, yellow and black zinc finishes.

Jigging / rack platingEach component is secured individually.Shape, support, contact positions and critical surfaces.
Barrel platingSuitable small parts move together in a rotating barrel.Ability to tumble without unacceptable damage, nesting or tangling.

Before you enquire

A drawing helps
us plan the work.

Include the material, dimensions, weight, quantity and desired zinc finish. Mark important surfaces on your drawing or photograph.

Prepare a jigging enquiry
Can jigging leave contact marks?

Small marks can occur where the fixture contacts the component. Identify visible or critical surfaces so that contact positions and finish requirements can be discussed before the work is agreed.

What sizes and quantities can you accept?

Send the dimensions, weight and quantity. Acceptance, jigging arrangements, pricing and timing are confirmed after reviewing the actual part and available equipment.

Which zinc finishes can I request?

Blue, yellow and black zinc finishes are available for suitable jigging work. Include any coating specification, appearance reference or other requirement with your enquiry.

What if I do not know which process to choose?

Select “Please advise on the process” in the enquiry form and send your component details. We can review whether barrel or jigging work is suitable.
